heather hughes hangs her heart in her current town of Somerville and her native Miami. (3oh5 til I die) She has also lived, entirely too briefly, in London and Santiago de Chile.

Her poems have recently appeared in The Adroit Journal, Forklift Ohio, Gulf Coast, Denver Quarterly, and Whiskey Island. Her chapbook was a 2016 finalist for The Atlas Review Chapbook Series, and she has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. She is an Editorial Associate for Scoundrel Time, and a Writer for Mass Poetry as well as a workshop teacher for their Student Day of Poetry events. heather MLA-ed at Harvard University Extension School, concentrating in foreign language, literature, and culture, and MFA-ed at Lesley University, concentrating in poetry. She has previously worked for AGNI and Quick Fiction and volunteered with 826Boston.

In 2014, heather stumbled into a basement letterpress shop, the Bow & Arrow Press. It was love at first impression and promises to be a lifelong learning process. Her poetry broadside projects, hand typeset one letter at a time, include commissions for the Cambridge Public Library Poetry Reading Series and her Lesley University MFA Poets Series. She is also currently printing poetry postcards, experimenting with block prints, and finding some time for other custom work.

She never outgrew her science fiction & fantasy obsession.
